📌 Pin Talks: What happens after they click your pin

Hi Reader,

Nina Addeo's workshop last Wednesday landed with a lot of you, and thank you for the reply-and-tell-me messages afterward. This week we shift to the piece that decides whether your Pinterest work actually earns a lead: the flow that catches the click. You've built content (Week 1), keywords (Week 2), and templates (Week 3). Now build the funnel that turns pin traffic into an email list, and that email list into paying clients.

In this week's newsletter…

  • Why "the click" is only halfway to a Q4 lead
  • The 4-part nurture flow every serious wedding pro needs
  • Pro tips for opt-ins that actually convert
  • What we're covering in October's newsletter series

Building Your Q4 Nurture Sequence

A pin that gets clicked but doesn't lead anywhere is a screenshot, not a lead. The Q4 traffic Pinterest sends you is often first-time visitors, which means your website has to do the trust-building your relationship history normally would. That's the job of the nurture sequence.

Here's the 4-part flow:

  1. Pin promises a specific thing ("5 fall wedding centerpieces under $50").
  2. Landing page delivers that thing and offers a related opt-in in the same breath ("Want the full guide? Drop your email.").
  3. Opt-in delivery: the actual guide, delivered instantly via email.
  4. Welcome sequence: the next three to five emails that show her who you are, what you do, and what to book you for.

Match every piece to the piece before it. The pin promises what the landing page delivers. The landing page's opt-in expands on what the pin promised. The welcome sequence continues the conversation that started at "5 fall wedding centerpieces." Traffic that jumps threads bounces.

PRO TIP

Keep your welcome email under 250 words. Send the first nurture email within 24 hours of opt-in, while attention is still hot. Match every opt-in to the pin type that will send traffic to it: a broad "join my newsletter" underperforms every time versus a specific "get my fall wedding centerpiece guide."

Hit reply and tell me: what's your current opt-in offer, and when did you last actually update it? No shame if the answer is "years ago." Most wedding pros are in the same boat right now.

A pin without a funnel is a saved image. A pin with a funnel is a lead in progress.

Dana

P.S. If your opt-in flow is exactly the kind of thing you keep meaning to fix but haven't gotten to, a Strategy Intensive is where we build it. You walk out with a content calendar plus your specific Q4 nurture sequence mapped end-to-end. Here's what walking out with one looks like.

A little fun fact:

Did you know?

Pinterest measures pin performance partly on the landing page's behavior. Landing pages that match the pin's promise (same H1, same visual language, same offer) get significantly lower bounce rates, and Pinterest reads low bounce rate as "this pin is answering the search well." That signal then shows the pin to more people. A good landing page doesn't just capture leads. It boosts the pin that sent them.
