📌 Pin Talks: 4 signals I'm watching for 2027

Hi Reader,

We've reached the final Intel Report of October, and I want to use it to look forward. For the last three weeks I've shared what I'm seeing right now: the Q4 search surge, field notes from a real client account, and a friend worth knowing. Today I'm turning the camera to 2027. Pinterest Predicts won't officially drop until December, but the signals that will define next year are already visible if you know where to look. Here are four I'm watching, plus the moves I'd make before January gets here.

In this week's newsletter…

  • 4 Pinterest signals I'm watching for 2027 (built from live data, not predictions I pulled from the air)
  • What to prep before January so you're not scrambling in Q1
  • SEO fun fact about Pinterest's "search-ahead" audience behavior
  • Upcoming: the November Monthly Pin Drop + Pinning Party

4 Signals I'm Watching for 2027

  1. Early planners are quietly taking over Pinterest search. Searches with modifiers like “early,” “well in advance,” “planning ahead,” and specific future-year keywords (2027, 2028, even 2029 for weddings) are climbing faster than their non-planner equivalents. The audience that finds you via “2027 wedding ideas” or “2027 content planning” is further from purchase than someone searching for inspiration, but much higher intent. They’re deciding who to work with months before the people searching broad terms are. If you’re not optimizing for these planners now, you’re missing the warmest leads of your 2027.
  2. The AI + Pinterest hybrid discovery pattern is here. More users are starting discovery journeys with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity) and ending them on Pinterest when they want to see what their options actually look like. This changes what Pinterest content needs to do: it needs to be the visual confirmation of what AI already told them to look for. Pins with specific, descriptive titles are starting to outperform cute-but-vague titles because they match the exact language the user came in with. Clarity beats cleverness in a world where discovery starts with a chatbot.
  3. Deep content pages are outperforming short ones. Pinterest’s algorithm is quietly rewarding pins that lead to deep, substantive pages (long blog posts, detailed service pages, comprehensive guides) over pins that lead to shallow landing pages. The reason is retention: when Pinterest sends traffic and the user stays on-page, Pinterest reads that as a quality match and sends more traffic to the same URL. If your pins are leading to pages that take 30 seconds to skim, you’re training the algorithm to send less traffic over time.
  4. Evergreen libraries are beating trend-chasing in slow motion. The accounts I’ve watched grow most steadily this year didn’t ride a viral moment; they built a deep library of search-focused evergreen content that compounds. Pinterest’s 6-to-12-month indexing cycle means library builders are now reaping what they planted last winter, while trend-chasers are back at zero every quarter. In 2027 I’d bet this gap widens. The creators who treat Pinterest like SEO (not social) are going to look like they came out of nowhere, when really they were just planting for a year.

PRO TIP

  • Audit your pin titles for specificity. Rewrite any title that could belong to five different pins into one that could only belong to yours.
  • Pick your top 3 blog posts or landing pages and expand them. More depth, more subheadings, more useful information. Pinterest will notice.
  • Start planting 2027 keywords this quarter, especially if your work has a long buying cycle (weddings, events, coaching, consulting). Pins published between now and January get the indexing head start.
  • Pick ONE evergreen content pillar you want to be known for in 2027 and commit to deepening it. Spreading thin across five topics is why most Pinterest accounts stall.

Reply and tell me the one thing you want your Pinterest to be known for in 2027. One clear answer. I read every reply, and I'll share back what I'm hearing across the list in next month's series.

Thanks for walking through The Intel Report with me this month. November's series is coming, and the creators who use the next 60 days wisely will walk into Q1 2027 ahead of almost everyone.

The VEIL Method Framework: A Strategic Approach to Visibility That Lasts

If you're planning for 2027, this is the framework I'd anchor your strategy on. It's my own, it's what I use with every client, and it holds up specifically because it's built for the long game Pinterest rewards. If today's signals have you thinking about repositioning, start here.

Did you know?

Pinterest users search for next-year keywords 6 to 10 months earlier than they search for the equivalent on Google. The person who searches "2027 wedding ideas" on Pinterest in October is roughly on the same planning timeline as the person who searches the same thing on Google in July 2027. That lead time is the entire reason Pinterest has stayed relevant through the AI shift; it reaches planners before they're ready to buy, which is exactly when brand loyalty gets formed.

Monthly Pin Drop + Pinning Party

November

If you're already an SPC member, see you there. If you're not, this is one of the perks that comes with joining, and it's where I share each month's new templates and run a live co-working session for members.

End of Year OOO

November + December

The rest of my calendar is intentionally quiet through November and December. I'm using the time to build what's launching in Q1 2027 for clients and the SPC community, and I'll share pieces of it in the newsletter as they take shape.

Know someone who's walking into Q4 already stretched thin?

Know someone who should be thinking about 2027 but is still cleaning up 2026? Forward them this email. And if you know a creative or wedding pro whose Pinterest needs the kind of long-game strategy I've been talking about all month, when they book a service with me, you'll get a $50 thank-you. Just have them mention your name.
